The Institution of Civil Engineers in Wales (ICE Wales) represents the 3000 professional engineers (including chartered engineers, graduates, students and technicians) who live and work here.
Who is this website for? This website aims to be a resource for members, and individuals or organisations in Wales who are interested in the current affairs and issues affecting their natural and built environments. Anyone who is interested in being a part of what ICE strives to do is welcome to get in touch. Perhaps you are a school or budding engineer or at a crucial career crossroad and considering a future in the built world professions. Contact us so that we can point you in the right direction through one of the many available advisors in our member community.
What do ICE do? ICE Wales through its Committees, Groups and Branches, provides a local focus for the Institution’s activities. It organises events and training courses for members; actively contributes to the development of infrastructure public policy; and promotes the civil engineering profession.
Last year, we published our Agenda for a Nation report to stimulate debate and highlight the actions needed to improve the management and condition of Wales’s infrastructure. We have also been heavily involved in evaluating impacts of the flooding disasters that have devastated lives and homes across the UK and thus putting forward ideas for action.
The Chairman of ICE Wales Main Committee for 2007-08 is Chris Laurence BEng PhD CEng MICE MIHT.
